India, the largest democracy in the world had very recently seen assembly elections in 4 of its states, the results threw some new equations in the political circle at the centre. These elections mark the end of the Left regime in the eastern state of West Bengal after a rule of 32 years of left, the red bastion was down after a very long period of the communist rule, while on the other side in the down southern state of Tamil Nadu, the ruling party was overthrown and the opposition sweep through the state to have a full majority government, in another southern state the left continue its rule and the second eastern state of Assam, the congress managed to keep its rule. The online news channels have been proving the citizens with the real time update on the election results for these assembly elections.
With the result of these four assembly elections, the new political equations are being rolled out in the centre of power in Delhi, the latest new from the world of politics is that of the meeting between Prime Minister of India and the new elected Chief Minister of the state of Tamil Nadu. The current government in Delhi is a collation government lead by the India National Congress and it has DMK as one of its alliance, which also part of the government, the DMK was the ruling party in the state of Tamil Nadu, until the recent assembly election defeat, the ruling collation has been on very slippery ground between the India National Congress and the DMK, primarily due to the alleged involvement of some of the ministers of the DMK in the 2G spectrum scam, which rocked the Indian social, political as well as the economic world, the scam is considered to be the largest in the history of the country and the involvement of some of the ministers of the DMK has largely added to the issues of DMK with the India National congress. The online news in India have been reporting the meeting between the newly elected chief minister of Tamil Nadu and the Prime Minister of India as the starting point for the new equation in the political circles in Delhi and some also see this as the final nail on the relationship between Indian National Congress and the DMK.
