The online news in India have published the real time update from the Delhi international airport, where 6 India crew members of the hijacked Egyptian ship MV Suez have reached home and are reunited with their families.
The Egyptian ship MV Suez was attacked and all the crew members were taken as hostage by the Somali pirates in the Caribbean, the crew members of the hijacked ship included 6 Indians, 4 Pakistani , 11 Egyptians and One Sri Lankan national, the ship was attacked almost 10 months back and this has been a long 10 month old ordeal for the sailors and their families at home.
The sailors described their ordeal as horrible and one of the sailors was mentioned as saying that they all were tied with ropes and were not given enough water to drink and have to live off with a plate of rice and spaghetti everyday and mentioned that there were no medicines for the hostages.
The online news report also described one of the family member of the captured sailors as saying that they had lost all hopes of reuniting with their family member and recount the horror they had to go through all these 10 months, one of the family member also mentioned that they had met the prime minister of India and were very heart broken when there were no assurance given by the government on their secure release.
It was the Ansar Burney, a Pakistani Human Rights activist, trust had arranged for the ransom money and secure the release of all the sailors, the human rights activist has become like a God the sailors and their families both in Pakistan and India as well.
“We made a promise that we will save humanity, there were 4 Pakistani, 6 Indians, 11 Egyptians and 1 Sri Lankan and if we could have saved only Pakistani national, this would have been very unfair to the other sailors and so we secured the release of all the sailors”, said Ansar Burney.
The Indian foreign minister has expressed their relieve on the return of the captured sailors and expressed the government’s gratitude to Ansar Burney and the Pakistani navy in securing the release of the sailors.
