Online News in India – Indo-Pak hold Foreign Secretary level talks.

India and Pakistan the two south asian nuclear powers have started the two day long foreign secretary level talks at Islamabad. The foreign secretaries of both the countries voiced a great sense of confidence, optimism and determination. The talks are suppose to be including agenda’s of the peace and security, terrorism and confidence building measures in Kashmir.

The online news report in India as well as in Pakistan have given full coverage to the talks, the two countries have held foreign secretary level talks earlier as well but the post the attack on Mumbai on 26th November 2008, the talks were cancelled due to the differences between the two countries, India has been insisting on Pakistan that the dialogue and terror acts cannot go hand in hand.

India on its parts wanted Pakistan to address the issue of cross border terrorism and punish those involved in the attack on Mumbai, which results in the killing of many Indian civilians and to dismantle the terrorist camps operating from the Pakistani soil, Pakistan on the other hand has been mentioning that he has been doing its best and claims itself to be a victim of terrorism, and wanted India to focus on the issue of Kashmir, which Pakistan believes to be the central issue in the region.

The report describe the leader of the opposition party as mentioning that their party fears the government of India may think of compromising on the issue of Kashmir and believes that they have information that informal compromises have already been made, the latest news from the world of Indian politics is that the leader of the opposition has threatened to the government of India that if the government made any compromise on the Kashmir front during the foreign secretary level talks the opposition party will launch a national level historical agitation against the government.
