The online news version of one of the most popular daily in India has reported one of the major news about an incident in the one of the southern state of India, Tamil Nadu where a minor girl has been married to a man old enough to be her father as the latest new from the world of social evils. This particular incident reported in majority of the online news in India is about a particular community in the southern part of India, this is one of the identified backward community and there seems to be a tradition wherein parents usually marry off their very young girls to men much older than their age and older enough to be their father, this seems to be the tradition of the community and the wishes of the parents as well and there have not been much resistance from the minor girls as well, one the girl interviewed had taken pride in the tradition and suppose to be mentioning that she could do anything to fulfill her parents wish. The in question community is known for such of their tradition and one of the medical officer in the nearby government hospital has mentioned that during the wedding season many very young girls much below the prescribed limit of marriageable limit are pushed into wedlock with much older men, and there entire village of the community is supporting such act and they are even ready to fight with the system to protect their tradition, one of the community male member was mention that they had to keep vigil all along the night to prevent anyone from disturbing the marriage as there are many outsiders who are against such marriages and object to such acts with the police.
Child marriage has been an age told tradition in some part of India, where kids both boys are girls are married off at a very early age, the children married at such a young age usually are not able to understand the responsibilities of the married life and this usually lead to many female deaths during the early pregnancies.
